ok i was wondering how much will it cost to redo you electrical for you backi breaks and back blinkers on a 91 gmc sonoma jw cuz my fuse keeps breaking and i replaced the fuse and then it started to smoke out of my steering coloum

Inspect the wire harness to the brake switch at the brake peddle. It sounds like the wire insulation may have shaved down and the bare wire is shoring out on to the steering shaft or the switch it self has gone bad.

Here is a link to your break system and #60 is the brake switch that activates your rear brake lights. Locate it and follow the wire harness and inspect for any signs of damage, like a burn mark from the short.
