How much will it cost to replace a heater core in a 2001 gmc jimmy? At a shop.?

Is there a way to clean it out? We took an air hose and blew some black gunk out 2 years ago. I live in S so i need the heat. LOL

Cost to have it replaced is around $700.00-$800.00 to have the heater core replaced. If it's not leaking, run the Preston super flush through your cooling system. It takes about 3-4 hours to get it cleaned out, if you don't have that much time, run the Preston 10 min flush twice to get you heater core cleaned out.

Once you cooling system has been flushed out, replace your thermostat. The thermostat should be 195", your Jimmy's PCM was program to have the engine run it's best at that temp. ;)
