I want to create a PCIx16 daughter board for my laptop?

I want to patch into a JE70-DN main board; likely at the Ram ports to extend a cable to an external video card. I've looked at the diagram and this would work for a desktop, but I'm not so sure about a laptop design. The reason for doing this is so I have a true graphics upgrade with the absence of a PCIx16. Drivers might be in question, but physically would the hardware work together in such a configuration?

I know all about the external drive and I’m not impressed because they are filtered through the main boards on board GPU using the HDMI jack.
