Greetings and Salutations.
I have a 2000 Jimmy SLE 4x4 with the 4.3 Vortec V6.
I was having an issue with the lower brake lights not working.
After bashing my head into a brick wall trying to figure out why the lights were not working.
Two weeks ago I found out that the GM/Chevy recalled the Multi-Function because it would cause the lower brake lights to not function at all.
At this point I was really glad and pissed that I never checked to see what work has been done on my truck.
I just wanted to share with you that It might be a good idea to check the recalls when you buy a car or truck. GM has a website just to check to see the recalls of the truck.
Here is GM's Recall site. All you need is your VIN.

Now I never thought to check for recalls on my 16 year old truck. But I found out, Out of the 6 or 7 recalls for my truck there was 1 not completed. and that was the Multi-Function switch.
Check for recalls guys and gals. you might need to get some free dealership work done.
