Well im posting this to get some ideas of knowing what type of scratch this could be...

I own a gmc sierra 2002 and drive it to school. Recently been actually driving it there.

So tonight i just take some time to look at my truck and notice this big long deep scratch right below the driver's door. My truck does have some scratches and bits of paint scrapes due to the years of usage but i'm not really sure if that long scratch has always been there or its just freshly made.

Honestly, i cant say surely that i remember having a scratch there or not.

So i'm thinking these could be some possibilities: some a*****e decided to hate by intentionally scratching up my truck with a deep cut, some moron hit their door against my truck accidentally or it's probably an old forgotten scar.

But what really puzzles me is the way the cut is made, starting pretty thin and straight then beginning to cut deep into the door, penetrating the paint roughly and just tearing it up, then it ends into a straight thin short line. To me, it would seem likely really difficult to scratch that straight and cut in really deep while keeping the line straight for a human intention, however it's not impossible.

Could it just be someone accidentally striking their door against mine or something?

I'm not sure myself so thats why im asking for some help in narrowing down the possibilities, aiding me in determining if i need to kick some ass or just let it go...

(I took the pic tonight in the dark, i know it doesnt look so good but ill take some more tomorrow when the sun is out, just wanted a quick answer today if possible!)
