For a few years now I have had intermittent clicking noise on the riders side. It is like a relay that has an intermittent ground.
Two years ago, we replaced the directional / windshield wiper/ etc. arm and we thought that took care of the problem.
The intermittent clicking started again, drives you nuts with the sound.
A week ago, my rear brakes started making a grinding sound, so the assumption is my brake pads need replacing.
Took the Jimmy in, the rear rotor was scored very badly so they replace the rotor and the pads in the back.
Low and behold, the clicking noise is completely gone. The assumption is the ABS brakes, or some kind of wear sensor was causing this noise.
When we checked our records from two years ago, not only did we replace the directional arm, we also replaced the pads at that time and did not corrolate the issue to the brakes.
So for anyone getting this clicking noise that drives you bonkers, have your brakes checked for wear.
