Intermittent “Rear access open” warning

I have a 2006 envoy XL. 160k owned 4 1/2 years. No problems until recently. Four days ago got the rear access open warning. Warning stayed on had to disconnect battery every time I parked. After relearn, it is intermittent. Anybody have this issue, and what were the results.

Prolly need to replace lock mechanism unless you have corroded or frayed wires in boot where hatch opens (near hinges)
