im installing a k&n 63-3058 air intake on my 6.0 tomorrow. Anyone have any opinions? Advice? Testimonials? Thanks.................

What are you hoping to gain from this add-on?

I know one thing is that they make more noise than a factory intake system and many people assume more noise = more power.

This will not improve your mileage and could make it worse if you can't control the need to hear the engine noise created by these.

Personally I don't see where they are worth it but if you have the money to spend, go for it.

I've found that the only advantage is you never need to replace them. Just clean them every year and you are good to go. I have them in all of my cars/trucks and there is no noticable noise from the OEM.

well, its on, and for the most part id say im satisfied. Only issues i had, the new "air box" did not quite line up with the original air box tray. i had to drill one new hole, and widen the supplied rubber insertion bolts that came with the kit. They were supposed to fit snuggly into 5/8" holes, but it wasnt even close. i widened them by wrapping electrical tape around them, and forcing them into the holes. Sounds pretty half-assed, but it worked! Also, i modified a bracket that supports a rad hose, and shortened the supplied crank case vent hose. Other than that, the kit installed great. As for performance, there is definitely a NOTICABLE difference in pedal responsiveness. I really didnt take much of a test drive, or get on too much it yet, so i guess time will tell how worth it this install was..............
