I just put the AC on the other day and noticed 98% of the air is not coming out from the vent. When I put the AC on it sounds like it's working, however nothing is really coming out.

The last time it was working fine was about 3 months ago when I had the heater motor circuit repaired, put in two cans or AC recharge, and installed the AC pressure switch. It worked perfectly, now nothing!

Any suggestions? I need to get this fixed! I have a 1994 GMC Jimmy 4/3, 4 door.

Greetings,

This is my first post and hopefully I can assist in some fashion. I too have a 94 Jimmy 4 door with a 4.3, which also has 4WD.

I recently bought it to take to TN and had issues with the climate control that I noticed while I was combing through her getting ready for my future road trip. My initial issue was no heat period..found out that the cable that connects to the temp control selector was broken off the arm or lever of the control unit, so it was stuck in cool mode (wouldn't operate blend door behind glove box). Anywho...I somewhat got it fixed, but can throw maybe this your way.

When I was removing the HVAC controls (mine are to right of instrument panel and have a north/south orientation), the vent selector or mode selector I guess you call it fell apart in my hand, was kind of brittle.

Anyways..regardless of which setting I chose, it stayed on main vents. I had no air going to defroster/dash vent or floor. I pulled everything apart and see the little round wheel that spins back and forth (which chooses which vacuum to engage) had come loose and a small star like piece of tin/metal fell to the floor board. I tried to fix it, but my repairs wouldn't hold...plastics were just too fatigued. I wound up buying a used one off eBay.

I am maybe guessing your selector is maybe broken and its stuck in the last mode/position it was lift in (internal to the HVAC switch itself). Just my .02

Are you getting airflow out of anywhere?
