I have a 2004 GMC Envoy 5.3L, about a week ago it started running alittle rought and sluggish, now I have barley any power, and its idling very rough, yesterday I saw the SES light start blinking, which I was sure was a misfire and stopped by the Advanced Auto parts to check the codes and they read, 1.mass or volume air flow A circuit range/performance
2.multiple misfire detected 3. random multiple misfire. Once I saw this I bought some MAF cleaner and sprayed down the screen. That didnt change anything except now when I accelerate it sounds like I have a blower. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

If you accelerate and it 'roars' it sounds like your electro-mechanical fan clutch has locked up; we had one fail (where it would not lock up) a few years ago in Vegas in summer and it was causing overheating. I believe the ECM controls the fan clutch; at least that's what I understood; we've had our 2004 XUV 5.3 since new not experienced the problem you describe, though.

Did you take the mass air flow sensor out? Then clean the sensor with the proper sensor cleaner. Don't touch the little wires or you will be buying a new one.try that first then let us know how it goes. Always do the first code first. The first code may cause other faults. Chances are its dirty and maybe clean your throttle body too. Good luck. Chris
