Obviously I'm new to this site and to this forum, but when i first signed on i posted two threads and had both of them go up no problem. But my last two posts i put up have had to go through a moderator. Is this a standard process on this forum of having your threads/posts go through a moderator first..? I myself am a moderator on a different forum, so when my posts didn't go up i found this odd as this is different from the one i moderate. Obviously though every forum has their own way of doing and processing things, so who am i to argue. So with that said, I obviously made few duplicate threads/posts, and for this i apologize to the moderation staff. Knowing now what i know i will make sure to wait until my threads/posts go through moderation before i jump the gun again.

Sorry about that! I approved your posts. We have such a bad spam problem here that we needed to take measures that sometimes over-filter. The more active you are the less of this issue you will have...

Thank you for the quick reply to my thread and to my question. As for spammers I know very well how much of a nuisance and a pain they can be. On the forum I moderate it's our job to watch out for spammers/unwanted content and remove it. And yes there are days that are worse then others when it comes to spammers. As you well know, I am new to this forum but am enjoying it as much as the one I currently moderate. With that said, if you are looking for any new moderators I would be more then happy to help out if need be. I am new obviously still so moderation is probably out of the question. But if you'd like to check out the site I currently moderate, feel free to go over to Suzuki atv forums and check out my profile: ajl719.

Thank you for the offer. It's still kinda slow here but when it does pick up, I can certainly add you on as a moderator. Let me know if you notice any spam. That would be a good start. If you're still interested in a couple of weeks, I'll get you setup.

Thanks again!

Hello, I'm just curious how long it normally takes before a post gets approved to appear in the forums, thank you

Thanks for replying and considering me as moderator. As for now I'll watch out for spammers or unwanted content and definitely keep you apprised. And of course if your still interested in adding me to your moderation staff in the next few weeks I'd be more then happy to jump aboard and help out.

How long for moderator approval?

I posted this morning and have had no moderator response AND the post simply disappeared. Here was the post:

With all the "tall" trucks running around, we thought we would like to lower our 2010 Sierra Nevada crew cab. But lowering a 4x4 is not a trivial matter, what with drive shaft geometry and the like. But we did it anyway:

The great thing about this job is that it is reversible:

One of the advantages of doing a free lowering job with Photoshop.

I'll try once more..

Did a post with photos 2 days ago...result: "awaiting moderation". Wow! Most unusual for automobile forums...Must be a very sensitive forum here or someone is paranoid over lawsuits. Anyway, no response and, naturally, my post vanished.

Tried on this thread yesterday to ask the question (with a copy of the first post) about how long moderated approval takes...No response and that post also vanished.

So I'll respectfully ask again:

Why the moderated approval step and how long does that take?

Sorry, Jacob. We have a lot of people signing up just to spam - so we need to manually approve posts from new members with links or images. You're all set...
