My 2005 GMC envoy ls was reading empty on the gas gauge even though we filled it up. So i went and bought the Fuel Sensor. I had to drop the tank and replace it on the fuel pump. But now after i just put everything back in its place, it shows up full but the truck wont turn on at all. What can it be???

Was the wire harness from the frame to the sending unit replaced??? Common for the wire to break in the insulator when moved around or the ground wire has broken off from the frame. Recheck your wire harness and also check your fuses, you may have a bad fuse like the ECM. It's the ECM that provides power to your fuel pump.

Good luck and keep us posted. ;)

how much did it cost to replace that, we are having the same problem of having gas but the hand and light indicates it empty

If your dealer replaces it expect to spend upto $700. If you do it yourself, the unit will cost between $175 and $300.

Hope this helps,
