my 1997 GMC jimmy broke, i started the van and it just didn't work no matter what setting i put it no air came out of the vents. I'm guessing that the blower broke and was wondering if I'm able to fix it by myself.

If you hear the blower motor working, but no air, you have a vent/vacuum problem. If you dont hear the blower motor working it could be the blower motor fuse, blower motor relay/resistor, or the blower motor itself. Yes, you should be able to test and fix this on your own, IF you consult your repair manual on how to test these components.

Check the fuse to the blower first, start with the simple. Good luck and keep me posted. You can always check the wire harness at the blower in the engine compartment to ensure there is power to the blower motor. A good tap to the blower motor through the engine compartment "top passenger side" might get the blower to start again for now. Good luck and keep me posted.
