My radiator coolant is boiling over through the reservoir 2000 GMC Jimmy?

Radiator is only 8 mths old.
The radiator cap says closed system fill through resivoir.
At fisrt a few weeks ago I notice the resivoir wasn't full. So I topped it off. It leaks down to about mid point so I've been watching it.
I thought it might just be a crack in the resivoir.
The temp gauge is fine.
Today when I pulled into the garage it was boiling over through the resivoir.
I'm a single woman and I'm not dating a mechanic.
What do you think it could be NOW??!! UGH !!!
I googled it & I'm seeing everything from a simple thermostat to a head gasket.
Could there be a clog in the radiator?

Sorry for the bad news and most likely going to be a bad intake manifold or head gasket. Inspect your engine oil and see how bad the oil is, you may find a sludge from the coolant mixing. The other place to inspect is the oil filler cap and the PVC valve, inspect the inside for sludge (milk like substance). This will indicate how bad the coolant has been mixing and your going to have to get the failed gasket fixed soon as possible and change the oil soon also.

Coolant mixed with the oil will cause corrosion to your internal engine bearings. The coolant is very corrosive and if not addressed soon will cause you to install a new engine from a failed crank bearings. Add a bottle of http://www.marvelmysteryoil.com/ and then change your engine old and filter to clean out the contaminated oil from your engine and have your gasket replaced.

Sounds like a cracked radiator, but go ahead and replace the thermostat (it's cheap, easy, and usually the culprit), or a hole in a hose. Go to Auto Zone and ask them to check ur engine light codes. It's free and they will tell you the issues ur sensors are sending, and they'll explain if you'd like.
