I have just purchased a 2001 sonoma sls 4x4. When I purchased the vehicle it has a slight tire rub if I am close to full wheel lock and hit a little bump. The owner said it was because it had on wider tires then it is suppose to have. But after looking at the information plate in the door the tires are the correct size. Are there different offset rims for the sonoma? Right now it has steel rims with like a sideways teardrop pattern that goes around the rim. Also the tires stick out far enough past the fender that the mirrors are always caked with dirt and my windows get extremely dirty. Ive had the wheels off and there isnt any wheel spacers.

Thanks.

If you check the truck out at tirerack.com you should be able to come up with the offset size for your truck. Then it is just a matter of a straight edge and a tape measure to check what you have.

seems i have the 8 hole rims but from earlier year. They only have 4 inches of backspacing and looks like i need at least 5.

Sounds like you have tire rubbing the fender. If you want to keep those rims maybe you can somehow bend or cut fender so there is no rub.
