Neutral Park Switch 2001 GMC Jimmy

I have a 2001 GMC Jimmy 4.3 Automatic with center console. Is it possible to get to the Park/Neutral switch by rmoving the center console to make adjustment?

For this job , Haynes repair manual says to use jack stands and
blah blah blah , so I'm guessing no based on if it were possible to
do it from the inside they wouldn't say to put on jack stands
( which would be the more dangerous) if you didn't have to.
