My wife just got the Canyon. Loves the truck but it is white and the body seams below the rockers really stand out from 10ft back. Any suggestions on Nerf or running boards that work well at covering it up, or any other option for that matter? Thanks for the help.
 
I have the same truck and color. 2016. All the running boards are much lower than the seams. I also thought of some way to hide them. Gave up. Ater a while you won't notice them.
 
Same deal for me too, but I got the Black Truck, I am looking for some boards or bars that will spice it up some.
 
Pinch Seam

I just came from my 7th Wrangler. It had awful pinch seams too. I haven't done this yet, but I plan on it. Get some painters tape and tape off just above the pinch seam. Then cover above that with newspaper and paint the seam with a couple of coats of bed liner or matt black Rustoleum. Let it dry and remove tape and newspaper. It's amazing how it fades into the background.
 
I have had four Canyons, 2009, 2011--2015 and currently 2017 and seriously I had to go down to the garage and look at the vehicle to determine the concerns expressed here. Honestly the area is under the truck and behind the running boards not bothering me in the least but the idea of spraying undercoating should certainly take care of the issue.
 
I noticed the same thing with my 2017 Canyon. The bottom side panel has an "unfinished" look. I added a pair of Raptor 7 inch SSR Series running boards to hide the bottom panel.

My 2016 came with the chrome tubular running boards. Hard to get in and out of vehicle by stretching over them to get in. They are not convenient for getting in and out of truck. I had the dealer take them off and reduce price of vehicle. I don't even look at the bottom of cab or the pinch seam. After a while you don't even notice it. Do be so anal!
 
The running boards do not assist me in the least as with long legs I just bypass them, my shorter buddy uses them for entrance and exit as does my short legged Westie puppy who would not otherwise be able to jump into the truck.....the boards are keepers.
 
Body Seam Fix with Trim Gard product

Here is a good-looking solution to this issue. I really didn't like the body seam looked directly under the running board area. I searched and found a product that really fixed this issue. I added black trim from "Trim-Gard" and was surprised how good it looked, or didn't look for that matter. After it was done, I don't even notice that area at all, and that, to me, is a good solution.
After you trim and install the "True-Gard trim", a section of the body seam that curves and goes verticle for ~ 8 inches is still noticeable (between the cab and bed). I simply lightly sanded and painted this part of the body seam with Eastwood chassis black. Looks great, if you can find it! I can email you a few images if you would like.
