Hey guys, this is my first post on this forum, and my first true GM truck ! I'm pretty fond of GMC though,I owned a little s10 for a while, most reliable vehicle I've ever owned.I'd still have it if this chick didn't run a stop sign when I was going a cool 55-60mph,thine me and immediately caused the truck to flip.
Anyway I just picked up this 1991 Sierra reg cab I'm not sure exactly what sub model it is it does have power windows and is a 5 spd (thank god).It has the 5.7 350,a 750 Holley carb,a summit intake, cherry bomb glass pack, and a 12 inch wilwood clutch assembly.it has 190k on the body :/. You couldn't tell it though minimal rust barely any actually. But the motor isn't its original motor, nor tranny.I have paper to prove it as well. The guy pulled the motor out of another truck, completely rebuilt it,put the carb on it,and reinstalled it.The motor only has about 2k since rebuild, tranny has 130k.
It's sittin on 33's I think maybe 35's and is lifted 4 inches.I'm just so stoked its a 5 speed!!Also it has a electric fan I forgot to mention.I need to connect this tach that's in it,and grab a rear bumper but other than that it's FLAWLESS.I drove it 3 hours all the way back from RI to CT with no quarrels. It cruised at 80 with ease.I took off that corny light and it didn't come with the plow set up.The guy only plowed his driveway for about a year or so with it,I check the ball joints/front end thoroughly though. So I paid $2400 for it..how'd I do?
Thanks :)

Not a bad Rig..... Good find. although i dont think you have a four inch lift because i have a four inch lift with 33's and my stance is a lot higher than yours. you might have the two inch body blocks?

Heres mine

Yeah yours is much higher lol
I'm gonna be completely truthful here,I've never driven in or even road in a lifted truck with huge tires on it.Do they all ride rough as sh*t?Or am I going to have to replace my front end/suspension.The dude that sold me it said its one of the smoothest lifted trucks he's ever road in,but I'm sittin here thinking the tie rods and ball joints are ready to go.But like I said I've never driven a huge truck like this.Could you show me what your front end looks like?;for comparison? Thanks

Well the can ride rough. mine does because of the tread pattern on my tires. but even older trucks like ours without a lift have that "truck suspension" where its a little harder ride... newer trucks are smoother but thats mostly due to the technology enhancements. it wouldnt be a bad idea to grease your fittings and bushings just as a maintance thing because you dont know the last time it was done. and heres my front end hope this helps

Sweet. Thanks for the info..Your front end looks pretty heavy duty and new from what I can see.Do you have any rust on your tie rods, ball joints etc?Looks brand new from here haha.Mine is rather rusty I don't really want to drop 700$ or so on the front end but I mean what I got for engine body frame etc i guess it's worth it.

like the 91 you picked up and looks like you got a good deal too hoping to lift up my 2001 2500hd Sierra with the 454 8.1 and put a bigger lift and mud tires
