This is weird...I have a 1985 GMC Sierra 4x4, my son was driving it and told me the headlights flickerd and went out, Only the Headlights all the other lights work.
I checked the fuses- all good, I replaced the headlight pull switch- no headlights, I replaced the multi-switch in the steering wheel- no headlights. Need Advise...

Did you check the headlight harness? That the headlights flickered may indicate that your headlight relay is shot... You should be able to locate a similar relay in order to swap it out and thus determine if in fact it is the relay...

Hello Tigercop70, This is were a 12 volt test lite or meter, comes in to play You need to check incoming power to your headlight switch and all fuses and relays that are part of the headlight system,Including all ground wires, A wire diagram, Would also probably help you, harness plug ins get dirty and beat up over time, follow the the 12 volt power with your tester, And it will most likely lead to the (gremlin) problem,Hope this helps,

you do not say if you replaced the headlight bulbs
I have had both low beam bulbs blow out at the same time once
I think what did it was during the day daytime running lights I turned off a/c and fan and the system had a voltage spike
I did the same thing as you. checked everything then I checked the bulbs
you do not state if high beams work?
PETE
