I own a 2009 Acadia SLT and had some shifting issues recently, i took it to a small garage and they adviced me to change the transmission filter at the dealer. I contacted the dealer to get the job done and they told me there is no such thing as a transmission filter for the Acadia and they would have to replace the whole transmission. Is this true??

Is this true?....YES AND NO..
YES, there is a filter, it is only part of the transmission rebuild seal kit. and the trans must be disassembled to replace this filter.
NO, it is not a normal maintenance item on this vehicle. Just do your fluid changes.
I think that is rather silly, just like fuel filters not being serviceable anymore, but that is just my opinion.
