Hi. I have a very nice 1989 V Series Jimmy. It is a 4WD, has a 5.7L 350 V8 motor with a Throttle Body Injection System, and a Five Speed Automatic 700R4 THM Transmission.
I have one hell of a time getting home with the right parts. It does not matter which parts house I go to, they just can’t get it right and they treat me like I’m crazy or worse: like I’m stupid. So sure they know better than me, they try to tell me what parts I need and try to convince me there is no other possible part for my Jimmy.
Here’s the deal: it is a V series Jimmy. They are odd. The latest issue was trying to get the two different sized tie-rod ends that make up the drag link.
Anyway I’m not just here to complain, I have a question also: where do I acquire a genuine GMC Shop Manual for a 1989 V series Jimmy? Chilton (now Haynes) is worse than worthless and I don’t want a service manual or an owners manual. I want the actual shop manual for my specific vehicle for the specific year.
