Oil Sensor Screen

Hey Guys,

New to the forum and I did try to do a search about this, but couldn't find anything. Maybe I wasn't holding my mouth right LOL !!

Anyhow .........

2009 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3

I was getting the usual "Low Oil Pressure / Turn Engine Off" warning .........

Oil pressure gauge would drop to 0 ........

I just removed the oil pressure sensor and took the dreadful screen out.... then re-installed the oil sensor without the screen .........

would this cause any issues with the screen deleted?

So first of all, there is a screen in that little 2mm hole?

But my uneducated thought on the screen is this: The screen was to protect the sensor from getting any oil contaminates in it. Since you removed this screen, the sensor may soon get clogged and be rendered inoperative.

But if you keep the engine oil clean you may never have a issue.
