Wondering if y'all have any experience of using power steering fluid with Bar's Stop Leak in it. As I've been posting here, I've had our recently purchased Acadia SL needing to be filled with power steering fluid after my wife was out driving it and nearly had an accident when the power steering failed. When we recently had it in for an oil change at our local Chevy dealer, without me having mentioned anything to them about the power steering/fluid, they came back and told me the power steering pump is leaking and would be a shade above $1000 to replace it(a bit over $600 was labor, so I take it it must be labor-intensive) Anyway, I searched on Amazon and I see there's a power steering fluid with Bar's Stop Leak in it, so I wonder if I should order some and give it a shot.... My hesitation with using stop leak in general is that I believe it can cause problems with blocking passages that are supposed to be open. On one hand I suppose at worst, I'll have to replace the power steering pump anyway and just be out the small amount of money the stop leak cost, but what do y'all think? Thanks much in advance!
