While towing my boat my truck will run about 215 sometimes hitting 220. Usually runs at about 200 or so. Is that overheating, and will a temp difference like that cause problems? Also if it is what can I do to fix it? Thanks

Change the thermostat to a lower temp, make sure that it's full of 50/50 water and antifreeze/coolant. My truck (2007 GMC Sierra) runs at 220 from the factory.

youve probably got like a 195 thermostat, its pretty normal. dont drive hard and you might look into a little water wetter. the added heat i dont know, get an auxilary oil cooler, itll last way longer and lower operating temps easy 15 to 20 degrees
