2008 GMC W/T 5.3 V8 that keeps coding a P0054 (O2 Bank 1 Sensor 2) and after replacing all O2 sensors it still comes back. I also checked the wiring and no breaks. Truck only has 33K miles on it so seems to early for these to go. Anyone have had this problem.

Well the truck is sitting at a dealers and was looked at today. I called them and asked what they found and they came to the same conclusion as I had. They told me they replaced the O2 sensor (B1S2) which I told them I replaced with 3 new ones. They also said they re-flashed the computer . I am skeptical that this is the solution as I can't believe I bought and installed 3 bad sensors. So they need the truck to sit overnight so the heater in the O2 sensor gets cold. They will start it tomorrow but somehow I don't think it is fixed. They said if it isn't fixed they will need to call the GM factory tech.
And the saga continues. I talked to the tech today and he said the new sensor didn't fix the problem. Think about it if you put 3 new sensors in the code location why would a 4th one work. So they called the factory tech and they told him to run a new wire from the ECM to the sensor and see if that corrects the problem. The funny thing here is why didn't the tech check the voltage at the sensor heater and determine there was an open before he put in a new O2 sensor. I bet they try to make me pay for a new sensor too. Well I have to wait another 10 hours to see if this fixed the problem. By the way the harness under the truck with only 33,000 miles on it looks brand new. Strange that a wire is either shorted or open.

Well here's where we are today. They claim it is fixed by running new wires from the ECU to both of the downstream O2 sensors( B1S2,B2S2). They ran it and did the inspection and the emissions passed. They believe it is a short in the harness but somehow I'm still skeptical. We'll see but there is a delay in picking up the truck because they broke the drivers side door handle inside so they need a new part and will fix it over the week end. All of this for a tidy sum of $670. I'll check the work when I get it back but I will consider trading it for maybe a F150 or a Ram. 33,000 miles and this is an unacceptable failure.
