The check engine light is on. Per Autozone the code is P0449. I need to know how serious this is inasmuch as we are going on an extensive trip with the vehicle. When they ran the codes, it reset and stayed off for quite awhile. Now it's on again with the same code. Historically, we have had multiple problems involving "check engine lights". It had been worked on under warrenty multiple times. I finally called GMC and raised H%&. They contacted my dealership and told them to "fix it". They ended up replaceing the entire wiring harness citing a "manufactering defect". Now I have another light on involving a possible circuit problem. Again, will it harm the engine to continue driving the vehicle?

No power to solenoid could be simple as 4ws fuse. No power check the 4ws fuse in the under-hood fuse block. The ground is PCM controlled you will not always have that, you need a computer to tell the pcm to activate the ground. There is no connectors between the 4ws fuse and the valve just a wire so if the fuse is good and you have no power you have an open wire somewhere which can be hard to find.

Common area is the 2 wires for the connector fill break from rubbing on the wire loom above the gas tank. Inspect your wire harness to your EVAP and at worst, your going to have the clean the EVAP solenoid valve or replace.

Keep us posted and good luck:D
