On ebay there are performance chips made by BOSS PERFORMANCE. Do these really work? it says up to 300 horsepower and 85 MPG.... Sounds like a scam to me, but I would like to know if anyone has actually tried this and got results.

It would be a scam. Chips belong in a bag. It would not do much of anything using one= wast of money. The only mods that these respond to are a cai, cat back exhaust and having your ecm custom programmed. Talked to alot of other folks and did alot of research and these are the only "power adder" mods that work.

The chip is only a 35 cent resistor for your IAT sensor, give the PCM a lower air intake temperature reading to your PCM for it to give it more fuel. But does nothing other then to keep the check engine light from coming on. You can get the same result as disconnecting the IAT sensor, other then the check engine light coming on.

Best thing you can do is to tune your PCM from a hand held tuner but that's also has limitation. Here is one of the better PCM tuners out there, http://www.pcmforless.com/. Give them a call and they will be more then happy to answer any questions you may have. ;)

Good luck and keep us posted.
