Playing video movies via VLC and Carplay

I have a 2024 Acadia Denali but it doesn't have the entertainment center at the back seats, only the front. I am trying to watch videos (.m4v files). I use for that VLV and the CarPlay feature.
Results: only the 1st screen of the movie is displayed (small size though) and then "freeze" but I have the sound.
Has somebody manage to view videos on this entertainment center console? Is it a file format/extension issue?
