Hey guys,

First time on this forum so take it easy on me haha.

Anyways, here's my problem:

Just recently my driver side power locks/windows/mirrors don't work. I figured out that they would only work when my door is closed. Now, recently, they don't work at all. However, my passenger side power locks/windows still work. What could be causing this? Also, I tried putting a new battery in my RKE and it doesn't want to lock/unlock the truck at all! I know for sure that it can't be a fuse. So what is causing this?

I recently had the same problem with my 94 sierra, but it sounds like a problem with your wiring. There might be a short in which case you would need to re-wire it. It might also be the motor but if it works with the door open then that would point to the wiring.

That's exactly what I was thinking. If it didn't work at all it would be the fuse or the motor. But it works only when the door is closed. I'm guessing maybe a wire is getting pinched.

What would be the reason why the key fob isn't working for the remote keyless entry? I tried re-programming it and changing out the batteries. Still nothing!

The fun part will be finding that bad spot in the wiring.

I would inspect the ground wire to the accessory wire harness to the drivers door sine all the functions there are gone. Take your time and access the wire harness and follow it in the cab first and if that is good, work your way to the door side connections.

Good luck and keep us posted.

And we have a winner. The ground wire was completely torn apart. It almost looked like it was cut. I was shocked when I seen it. I just took another strand of wire and put it inbetween where it split. Problem solved. Thanks guys!
