Hi,
I have a GMC Jimmy 1995, 4.3L. I have now some Problems with my overhead console. The display that gives you temperature and direction works fine when the light is off. When I turn the lights on, it turns off. It startet to be like this last week. Before it wasn´t so bright but you could see everything when the light is on.
Does it has a different bulb?
I also have troubles with my windshield wipers. They work in full speed, but the other mode are working for 3-4times then they are starting to go full speed without a stop!

Thanks for your help

The circuit board on the wiper motor has gone bad, you can buy the replacement circuit board at Auto Zone or NAPA. But if your good with soldering, you can re-solder the circuit board it self.

The common issue to the board is were the wire harness connects to the board at the wiper motor assembly. The solder most of the time is cracked or the solder has gone bad and will need to be re-soldered.

The other plan would be is to replace the whole wiper motor assemble which is costly, or you can go to the Salvage Yard and pick one out for about $25.00 or less.

Good luck and keep us posted and will get you information on the overhead console soon as i can. I'm out on tour.

Thanks for your respond, I have to take a look the wire harness.
Oh man, I am embarrassed to tell this, but I have the solution for the overhead display. I drove alyways during daylight, but today I drove at night and I saw that my dimmer is at the lowest adjustment. When I pulled it up it turn my display on again. Simple solution:-)
