I'm considering painting my Jimmy's rims, but I'm in no way an expert on painting... anything. Anyone able to tell me a way to do it myself? I'm not looking for easy, I'm looking for what it takes to do the job right, I realize that to do the job right, I really should take it to a shop, but I think you DIY'ers out there will agree, theres a bit of pride in doing it yourself, as long as it's done right heh... :) I have factory rims, with the little 4x4 in them, whats the best way to go about this?

Buy aircraft paint remover and take the old clear coat off the rims first. At that point you can ether paint your rims and clear coat them again, or you can polish the aluminum rims to give it that nice polish look.

You can buy a rim paint made from http://duplicolor.com/products/wheelCoating/. There instructions for you to get the job done.

Good luck and keep us posted. ;)

From the information you've given me and some info from a few of my usual customers, seems pretty easy, if tedious, and I have everything I need in my store. :D Definitely goin' to do a 'lil something after I repair my suspension issue, alhough I won't be getting to that for a while. Thanks again dude. :)
