The rear tires on my 2011 Savana 3500 are wearing very fast. without rotation, I could wear them out in 10,000 miles. Its been like this from day one. I currently have 36,000 miles on the van and have around 6000 miles on my 3rd set of tires (Cooper Discoverer AT3) The rears had less than 50% tread left when rotated last week. When compared to the fronts, the fronts have more than twice the tread depth of the rears. I took it to a local frame shop and it was checked for alignment, frame damage, axle damage, all were good. It was sugested that it might be the rear locker or the stabilitrak system. Has anyone else had this problem? Any sugestions on what could be wrong?

My thoughts:

1. teenage driver.. peel outs?

2. Are they the right spec tires for the vehicle? 3500 = 10 ply tire. An AT tire will wear faster than an all season tire.

4. incorrect tire pressures.

5. Alignment issues.

6. over weight issues.
