my remote keyless entry system is dead.....tried new battery in 2 different key FOBS with no luck. Anyone have any ideas about which circuits are involved in this?

I have similar problem but only works when im about 3 feet from car.Changed battery.
 
I think it's the rear body control module ( A.K.A. Liftgate ctrl module). Besides the dead key fobs, I have no rear wiper and rear hatch/gate unlock functions. Rumor has it that all those functions are controlled by that module.

Queball,do you know were this module is located?My rear wiper does work. My rear gate won't lift manualy. Is there another way to open the gate ?Thanks for any help.
 
The module is contained within the lift gate....behind the inside plastic cover. You can manually open the lift gate from the back side of the lift gate. There is an access plug ( 1" diameter) that pops out. Put your finger in and pull black plastic lever towards you....very easy. Caution...a dealership has to flash/program a replaced lift gate module. If you replace it, it will continually search for the key fobs and drain your car battery overnight. I'm going to check for wiring problems first, b4 I send it to a dealership.
 
....the other option to open the lift gate is to remove and reinsert fuses 03 and 09 in the fuse box under the driver side middle row seat ( I have XL model).

cueball,I found the plug thanks. I was able to open. I found rust on some of the linkage and sprayed. I could open and close by hand but if I locked it could not open.I do not have an xl my no. 3 fuse pass. side low beam and 9 wipers. What does yours show for those no's. thanks.

Having sprayed with wd40 all is well. The linkage was not moving when actuator was engaged. Thanks for the plug help.
 
I fixed my problem with the remote keyless entry system by reseating the 3 connectors on the liftgate control module. Pop off the back inside liftgate cover and you can gain access to it.
