Hey everyone, I'm new here, trying to remove the transmission from my 2001 Sierra. Problem with it is I lost reverse and pushing the truck out of parking spots is getting old. I got everything disconnected and all the bolts out but I cannot get the tranny to seperate from the engine block. There's a dust cover that's makes up the bottom of the bell housing and I got that completely off, took off the transfer case, all wiring disconnected, tranny cooling lines, and shift cable all off. I counted 6 torque converter bolts and 7 bell housing bolts going into the engine block, got those all out and the rear transmission support bracket is off. Could it just be a problem where the transmission is rusted to the block? (the block has many layers of rust that just flakes away so it's pretty rusty) or did I forget something? I have tried everything so far and cannot get it to move, if anyone needs pictures I have plenty I can put up.

Sounds like it just stuck on the doual pins. Use a sharp screw drive and a hammer and drive it up from the bottom where they meet. It will come.

Also, if the engine and trans are not properly supported the sheer weight will not allow them to separate.
