Good morning,

Got 95 jimmy missing an egr valve- just didn't have one but before I get that what would cause it to rev up to 2600 when starting and not go down to normal idle? I removed IAC and cleaned it, and cleaned throttle blade but it isnt sticking. The EGR wouldn't cause that, would it?

THanks in advance

Your IAC is still dirty or sticking casing your engine to rev high untill the needle pin in your IAC moves back to its neutral position.

Try cleaning it again or replace it if it's gone bad. Keep us posted and keep up the great work.

I think you are right on Molson Canadian. Took the IAC out and it is real sticky to move that spring in and out. Think I'll have to get one off ebay. Appreciate your input.

Keep up the great work and you can always try the salvage yard for that part.

Some of the replacement parts i use on my Jimmy are from the salvage yard and they are covered under warranty from the yard.

Good luck and keep me posted.

unfortunately this suv is not going anywhere. Never got the title for it and owner is avoiding my emails to get one. might still get iac replaced but only if i get an interested buyer. Just part put tires and scrap the rest. Got the whole thing low enough I'll still make a little-too bad its good shape.
