Need some help and advice. Bought a 2011 GMC black in color how do I avoid rock chips on rocker panel and in front of rear wheel well? Has mud flaps but I live in South Dakota and I live on gravel so this is a serious problem.

I haven't actually seen the product used, but supposedly you can buy a spray on "clear bra" at the popular auto parts stores or on Amazon. I have also seen on other forums where people post about using the spray on Plasti-Dip that you can buy at home improvement stores for the problem areas. The Plasti-Dip will look a little different than the paint. Again I haven't used that yet. I have the same problem, except a white truck. I bought some of the Plasti-Dip to put on but need to wait until the weather is warmer for me. The little piece of clear sticker the factory puts on isn't much help at all. I have also seen some clear bra type material that is applied to the lower rocker panels, but I have only seen that advertised in the back pages of auto magazines, so again I have no experience with it. At least this is a few options to look at.

While in a Toyota dealership (giving moral support to neighbor buying Toyota) the other day I observed a truck on the floor with the clear plastic bra. The truck was jacked and had large tires, the fenders Behind the tires had large areas covered with the plastic bra material both front and rear. It appeared the material was part of a dealer installed package.
