I have the Sirius XM radio in the truck. My girlfriend has a Kia Soul with Sirius XM and never loses signal. Driving up in the Adirondack mountains in NY, I'll lose signal left and right. Taking the same roads with her car, the signal never drops. You would think that with the Canyon being a taller vehicle, thus, a slightly better view of the sky, that I shouldn't lose signal if she doesn't, but that's just not the case. I think that the next time my truck is in for service I'm going to have them do a continuity check on the antenna cable, and make sure there are no loose, or compromised connections.

I had 3 vehicles with Sirius at the same time, each one would lose signal at different locations. There is only one area that all 3 would lose signal, but the amount of time they were without signal would be different. Not sure what the difference is, but like you, my two trucks which are taller than the suv, would lose signal longer than the suv.

I live in the hill and valley region of central PA and occasionally lose the signal on my Canyon but not as often as I did on my Pontiac Vibe. The change in seasons also effects this as it seems in the winter the satellites are lower in the sky as the earth tilts. Reception improves in the summer.
