I have a 1999 GMC Suburban. I want to flip the seats down to get more room.
The pull tab works on the smaller seat behind the passenger. But when I pull the tab on the seat behind the drivers side it won't disengage the latch. I pulled and pulled and it just won't release. I tried looking underneath but there is so much foam and stuff under there you can't see the latch. I tried sticking a piece of metal down the hole where the cloth pull latch comes out to see if I could push the latch free. No luck. I hate that I may have to take it in to have someone completely remove the seats and take the cushion apart to get to the latch to see whats going on. Anyone else have this problem and a remedy ?

No one has had this problem ????

Nope and the problem is that not every model year has the same latch release. So, until someone with a 99' sees your post, you may be out of luck.

On my 86' the latch is released by pulling forward on the lever up by the shoulder. It's cable driven. If the cable breaks, it won't unlatch.

Maybe yours is the same?
