My girlfriend drives a GMC Jimmy 1996 , to make a long story short. one of our idiot friends was playing with the seatbelt around his neck like a fool and it got pretty tight and locked in place and we couldnt loosen it or get it to unlock so in a state of panic we just cut the damn thing. So now the front passenger has no seatbelt, i called the GMC stealership who wants $240 in labor and has to track down the "discontinued part" which could be an extra $200. Basically the guy on the phone mentioned that the rear passenger is exactly the same and can be relocated to the front, he said he shouldnt tell me this because obviously they want me to pay for all there costs. Does anyone know if this has any validity to it? I have a cousin who works for a shop and said he will help me move it for $50. Since no one ever sits in the back i figured what the heck why not go for it and if i can track down a used seatbelt later on ill eventually replace the rear one. If someone could reply it would be greatly appreciated because as of right now the front passenger is unprotected. thanks a lot!

Go to the junk yard and get one for $5. Look at what you have first and the tools required to do it. This is an easy job, should take about 20-30 to remove and another 20-30 to install. $50 to help, damn with family like that who needs enemy's
