Be aware that you may be purchasing a clunker if you purchase a GMC equipped with certain transmissions. This service bulletin finally explained why my new GMC truck has a transmission clunk between 2nd and 3rd gear. Buyer beware.

HELP - Does this apply to the 2014 Sierra 1500

I have the transmission clunk after 1000 miles of a 40 plus thousand dollar truck.
What can I do?

Good luck

Just came from the dealership with the clunk noise. Been doing it since purchased. Dealer says its normal for this truck to do that. Nothing wrong. I expected that answer. Never owned a truck that did that before and I have a fleet of them. Disapointed in this.

My year 2000 GMC 1500 pickup was treated gently by the previous owner. That didn't prevent the auto transmission from " bang" shifting when it gets hot. The service bulletin says certain parts in the valve body tend to stick , but it's way too late for me to get any free factory service. My two '89 Chevies went over 220,000 miles without a transmission problem. This 2000 has 109,000 easy miles. GM forgot how to build transmissions .
