My first brand new truck a 2013 GMC Sierra Z71 SLE 5.3L. Brought the truck on Jan 17, 2013.
I love this truck, I had to take it the dealer for a 90 day check and was having problems with the service park assist on the message display and some other issues. That was on Apr 26, 2013 and picked up the truck on May 6, 2013. The next morning when I got in the truck to go to work the massage was on again. Return to the dealer May 7, 2013 and talked to the service manager and he said drive it and see what happens as the system was working fine by the time I got there. Dealer said they replaced a sensor, the other issues I listed they said there were unable to duplicate.
The service park assist would come on and I would clear the message display.
I stopped clearing the message display and returned the truck to the dealer on May 15, 2013 and picked up the truck May 16 2013. (Cause sensor shorting) is what is on the invoice.
The next morning when I got into my truck to go to work you guessed it service park assist, returned the truck that day May 17, 2013 and picked up the truck on May 24, 2013. Went to dinner with my wife and when we were finished with dinner and wanted to enjoy the weekend we got back into the truck and service park assist was on. (Wife has lost touch on this and she wants to invoke the lemon law). And she laid the law down on me as well she told me she wanted me to get a new truck and have fun driving it and not always tinkering with it keeping it up and running. Good thing I didn't sell my 1998 GMC Sierra 4X4. I could fix this but it would cost me and I would change what I have with this truck.
The wife called the dealer right than and there and they told her to bring it back and they would rewire the truck. ( That is the same thing they told her they did the last time they had it). Returned home and the truck has been sitting in the garage and I will return it to the dealer May 29,2013
Ok so this is where I am at, and I hope I am at the right place, is there any fix for this issue? From what I have read this problem has been on going. Any advice.
Thank you
Don
