Try L1 and L2, if you do get moment in L1, L2 and reverse. good chance your Forward sprag is broken. R&R. Try not to run or drive the car or further damage could result.

In "OD" , "D" , 3 , 2 shifter position there is a roller clutch that "holds" on a race that also holds a planetary unit and it allows the vehicle to move forward.

IN manual "1" there is a set of clutches applied right behind the roller clutch. These clutches "hold" the race and planetary to provide first gear.

For some reason the roller clutch is not operating.

It could still be a problem in the forward sprag inside the main aluminum drum that the input shaft is pressed into.

It is not a solenoid , TPS , u-joint, engine, torque converter problem as it appears to me from the information you provide.

A remove and disassemble is required to fix this trans.

same thing in 1,2, and 3 gear...just like in Neutral in any gear except Reverse...:(
Thank you, Molson for your insight

Here's food for thoughts. Forward clutch is applied in all forward gears, forward sprag clutch is applied in all forward gears except 4th, those are your primary suspects in the clutch department. But there could also be trouble in the valve body, or torque converter.

i did hear a pop in the tranny area when i accelerated on the highway...
does this help??

Forward sprag is broken. sorry for the bad news, but your going to have to R&R:(

So, its a broken forward sprag clutch., thanks!!..any ball park estimates on the cost to repair and how extensive is this repair time wise?? or would it be better to just have a whole rebuilt tranny put in..only 69000 miles on my truck..
Thanks for your input, Mr. MOLSON : )
