Got my GMC 6L in the garage ... pulled the plugs and can't get the sleeve and wire on the new plug!!!

No matter how I 'aim' it, is simply will not click on - specifically the driver side rear, although will have the same trouble with the passenger side rear too. The rubber connector just bends and wiggles around, too flexible almost. Weird.

So, what's with this, slides on the plug outside the truck fine, just like it should. Clearance is a bit tight, but not THAT tight.

Wonder if it requires sliding the sleeve in first, then the plug wire connector? Tried that, no luck. Got me puzzled ... first time for me on this GMC, but I've done plenty others, different trucks different engines. Never had a problem simply slipping the spark plug wire on - how embarrassing is that? Must be "Old Fingers" getting to me.

Must be some 'trick' that eludes me.

GMC 6L - 2003 ...

Got the right plugs and wires - and even matched before I installed. BUT, here's my really stupid event for the day, actually for the year!

When I put the plug in, the little rubber neck that keeps the plug in the wrench - well, it slipped off and stayed on the plug neck. And, because you can't see into that rear plug bay from any angle on this engine, I missed it and couldn't feel it either, because it's just a small rubber ring.

So, an hour later - after thinking some installation glitch was me missing it - I went to take the plug out, and that's when I saw it. DUMB MONKEY44 - DUMB MONKEY44 ... my Darwin Award for the year.

So, forget this one, or remember it for Stupid Days ... :) :)
