Hey folks, Happy New Year!

I have a 2008 Sierra SLT Quad Cab 4X4 with the All Terrain Package. I had it into the dealer a few weeks ago for an alignment because when I rotated my tire found the front were wearing uneven. All was fine with that and they said it did need adjusting. While it was there I asked they check the steering wheel as it was off center. I mean this thing isn't off much but it drive my OCD havin' a$$ crazy. Well when I got it back there was no difference with the steering wheel. It was still off (turned to the right a bit). I took it back and he said no problem and they had it an hour. I got it back and now it's off the other way about the same amount.

I guess my question is, does anyone know where the adjustment is made? Is this something I can do? I guess all they have to do is go back the way they came about half way but I'm afraid it'll be off again.

Thoughts?

Thanks...

It's funny you say that... I have the same problem with my truck after putting on new tires. I also have the same problem with my 03 chevy 3500 express cube van. I went to 3 different dealers (for my 06 sierra) in the WNY area and they all told me that they dont see a problem, it must be the tires. I have had the alignment checked, tires dismounted and then remounted still the same problem.
just like myslef I have an OCD about my truck and I hate when dealers tell me there is nothing wrong when they clearly can see it.

All that aside please update me if you have the problem fixed or someone reply's back..... Thanks

They have to adjust the tie-rods to center the steering wheel.

I wonder what you are using to determine the wheel is not centered. The only way you can only tell IMO is when its on the front end alignment machine. There are to many variables in road design and "as is" construction to make that judgement driving, especially when you say its only a little. I was a DOT Surveyor for more years than I care to admit and I can tell you the roads are never flat side to side nor are the perfectly straight. There is a well know 30 miles stretch of state highway in my area that appears straight for all 30 miles but in reality there are defections all along the supposed 30 miles of perfectly straight road and if you were to hold the steering wheel in a fixed position you would either go off the road in a short distance or cross the centerline. .
