when i come to a complete stop than start to roll again feels like somthing drops been doing it for a year now.

what kind of vehicle, year, 2wd, 4wd??

Could possible be the drive shaft front slip yoke binding (dry metal to metal contact) and clunking from weight transfer when stopping?

If drive shaft slip yoke: 2wd, remove and lube splines with special grease. If 4x4 remove and lube splines with Dexron VI ATF. DO NOT LUBE SPLINES ON 4X4 WITH GREASE, will migrate into transfer case and mix with ATF eventually causing transfer case failure do to contaminated ATF.

Sounds like your ShiftA solenoid is sticking. Easy fix in the pan. Or a wiring problem from PCM to trans.. or PCM. From what you described, it sound like your transmission is not shifting back in to first when coming to a complete stop and then when you start to roll forward it does.

This can me checked buy letting the sierra roll froward first by taking your foot off the breaks and then accelerating shortly after the sierra is rolling, this will give the solenoid time for the transmission to shift down before your engine puts any load into your transmission.

If this addresses your issue, a transmission additive or service may address this issue. But if you do the transmission service, you might as well replace the solenoid and wire harness to the solenoid.

Keep me posted and if it.s not your transmission that is causing your issue we can go on to the next. Good luck :D
