OK. I have a 1996 Chevy Suburban K2500 7.4 ltr (I know!) Its not a GMC but I am at my wits end and need advise! 128,000 miles
Due to the MPG and the cost of gas to fill, I have left it sitting for two weeks. I went to start it and it was dead. It has a red top optima batery (two years old) side mounted posts. I pulled the battery and it took a charge on my bench charger. I put it in and it started. Went back two days later and it was dead. I figured it was the battery and replaced it with a new optima. Same issue. My girlfriend saw sparks come from bottom of truck when I tried to start it. I have cleaned both pos cables (one going to starter and other to starter relay box. Same issue. Car just clicks when I turn ignition. Cables are tight. Today I took alternator off and took it to auto zone and they tested it and it passed charging test. What else should I try? Starter looks like it sucks to change.
