Here's one for the real gearheads on this board....
This is just an idea I have.
I bought a used 2006 GMC Envoy XL with the I-6 engine. I understand that the Denali model had a 5.3 8 cyl engine available. It seems to me that my car seems to be "underpowered" for it's size. My question is... could the I-6cyl engine be swapped for the 5.3 8 cyl engine? I understand that there would be other costs related to this other than just the engine and labor. Is it feasible to do this? would the 8cyl engine "mate" with the tranny that is already in there? Is it an involved process? I would have a professional mechanic do the work, I have not the time, the skill, the space or the tools to do it myself.
TIA
