Well, my curiosity has got the better of me so i just had to ask. I have read up a bit on the web about (TBI) but was wondering if someone could give me a better and simple explanation on how exactly (TBI) works and if requires very much maintenance. And is there different model (TBI) or just one..? And if there is how do i know what type i have on my truck, ( 95 GMC Sierra 4x4, 305 V8.

In simple terms, the TBI is a more efficient Carburetor where as a Carburetor uses the vacuum in the intake through a Venturi tube to draw in the fuel in to the intake.

The TBI is controlled by electrical pulse through 2 injectors on top of the throttle body that control the amount of fuel being sprayed through the throttle body.

With the TBI system, the engine will have a better air to fuel mix ratio though out the entire engine's operating loads with the help of O2 and temperature sensors being processed by the ECM.

Hop this was simple enough without to much inputs lol
