ok ive read some forum pages and some helped but i wanna be sure before i do this/ i have a 2000 gmc jimmy 4wd and wanna raise it. ive heard that maxing out the torsion bars on the factory keys will raise it 2 inches and would need to get rear lift shackles for it. i have 31 inch tires x10.5r15 and want more clearence on it for offroading. would a set of aftermarket torsion keys and shackles work? also ive been informed i would need to change the shocks. i was considering on buying a set of gabriel mono max front oem fit shocks and rear gabriel hijacker air shocks. would they work with a lift or would i need to buy diffrent shocks?

I just put 31's on my 96 2 door. I cranked the torsion bars to raise the front about inch and a half maybe 2. Put a shackle lift in the back (stock shackles had holes and needed replaced anyway for inspection). I used a universal adjustable shackle lift and the mid point was as far as I could get the stock springs and shocks to go. It did give me around 2 in the rear though. This is all the info I have. I like the way mine looks, with the tires it's about 4 or 5 inches higher than when I got it. I also have a 3" body lift I will be putting on at some point. Oh and if you do replace the shackles, you will need bushings also and plan ahead cause your local stores may not have many in stock. I needed 4 and had to go to 3 places to get them, also, the existing bolts will be galled in there and will take time and frustration to remove them :D
