thermostat replacement

does anyone know how long it should take to change out a thermostat on an 82 jimmy never replaced one on any vehicle before just wondering what ill be gettin myself into before i start thanks

Just did my sonoma a couple of days ago. Not difficult but I did replace my alternator at the same time so having that out of the way made it easier. Just make sure you have thermostat housing gasket and antifreeze to replace what leaks out. Took maybe 1/2 hour.

about an hour taking your time...have plenty of socket extensions and swivels.

also, if you have not done it lately...I would consider doing your water pump as well.

you'll have the system open and some what drain...and you'll be in there working.
